Anika is now almost 18 1/2 months and her baby sibling is almost 18 weeks along in pregnancy.
Do you think it is a boy or a girl?
Anika is growing up so fast. Too fast. Just these past few weeks have brought
several dozen new words. When we're at home she talks and talks and talks. "Dog" may not
be her favorite word anymore, or at least right now.
Anika could eat fresh fruit all day. We really do try to limit her, but...
Here she is finishing off some mango from the pit.
She counts to 3 but often forgets 1 and/or 3 or says "two" for either of them as well.
So she doesn't really count to 3, but sort of :)
She still loves to run everywhere. She usually sleeps through the night. She does much better in the car. She laughs when we drive on the treads along the side of the freeway.
She always wanted to push her strollers so I got her a doll stroller and she loves it!
Recently she has allowed more dolls and stuffed animals to be in it, but at first she had just
about everything else in it. It was most often used for random toys, food storage, potatoes,
pine cones, leaves, garbage, rocks, etc. The other day she stopped playing with it for a
couple of minutes and I put a stuffed animal in it. The next thing I knew, the stuffed animal was out
and a half eaten banana from the table (I'm surprised she could reach it) was in her stroller.
In this picture she was signing "Please" so Than would read her a book. She just recently starting signing
it the right way, but she used to sort of wipe her thumbs on her shoulders to sign "please."
She LOVES swimming and baths and playing in water. We've gone to
Seven Peaks a few times, and she is totally fearless. She always wants us to set her down when we're in the wave pool or the lazy river, even though she can't touch the bottom and can't swim.
She still likes to tip over our hamper, pull out the dirty clothes, occasionally try them on, and stand on our tipped-over hamper. Although she can be a pretty good "helper" with the laundry, garden and dishes.
She is not into bows and headbands right now, but she kept wanting to wear
this pirate bandanna from her cousin's birthday party.
Anika has been to nursery twice now. She loves it. But we don't love what
she learned the very first day, "No! Mine!"
Daddy's head apparently makes a good step stool. She also likes to sit straddled over his stomach while he is laying on his back and bounce. She laughs and laughs and laughs - especially when he grunts.
She still loves dogs and animals in general. Her whale, monkey, elephant, and crocodile noises are all outrageously cute. She spends a lot of time putting objects into a container
and then into another container and then into another container. She got to stay up late for fireworks
on the 4th, and she loved it! Her two boy cousins just older and younger than her
were crying for part of the time, but she was trying to go get the fireworks.
She is so fun and so busy, and we love her so much!

SHe is growing sooo fast! I bet you are having a boy!!
She is so cute and smart! Can't wait to see her. I think.... I don't know? Boy.
Let's go with boy because of the statistics of it, but who really knows :) Of course Anika learned "No! mine!" at nursery . . . at least she's liking it.

Congrats on the pregnancy! We didn't know about it. We're going to guess a girl since we are a girl kind of family (so far anyway).
