11 Months

I am almost two weeks late on this post. Anika turned 11 months on December 14th.
I don't get on the computer very much anymore. It is tricky to keep up with Anika and
keep up with documenting her growth, progress, and mess-making.

Our big little girl is 11 months old. She is so much fun and so funny! And she is walking!! December 19th
is the day she walked across our bedroom several times without help and without falling (at least
not very quickly). December 26th is the day she started toddling all over the place, turning around,
coming back, etc., etc. Sometimes she just laughs and laughs as she walks around.

Mess-maker, mess-maker, make me a mess...

She is holding my hairspray while she crawls around. She loves to hold things whether she is eating, crawling, being carried, sleeping, nursing, in the car, or in the stroller. She also likes to push things
around that slide like books, her upside down bumbo tray, and all sorts of other things.
Her most common crawl is with one knee out to the side. For a while she had some sort of
Michael Jordan tongue thing going on while she crawled.

Lately Anika has been taking things off, and then she tries to put them back on. She will take off
her bow, headband, hat or sock, and then try to put it back on. She will also take off Nathaniel's
sunglasses and try to put them back on him. Anika is usually helpful when we put her jacket on.
She will put her arms out, and even switch whatever she may be holding to her other hand so
we can put the other sleeve on. Also, she just likes to put things on her head.

She has started playing the piano. She can reach things that are on the edge of our
dressers, bed and table. She also likes to turn pages while we read books.

Anika really wanted some of the apple we were eating, so we let her try a piece.
Some of the new foods she has tried lately include mango, blueberries, pineapple,
liverwurst, lamb, and rutabagas. She loves to eat.

She likes to open and stand by our junk drawer and pull things out and,
without even looking, drop them to the floor.

She also loves to pull out the bags...

and the clothes from the dryer as I try to load it.

10 Months

Minutes after I told my grandma that Anika can't climb stairs yet, guess what she did!
She is also cruising around the furniture and a speedy little crawler.

She LOVES to get into EVERYTHING! She has enjoyed peek-a-boo for some
time now, but lately she will hold a cloth or jacket or whatever in
front of her face and put down... up... down... up...

Anika started this new growling thing. It is very funny. Sometimes it
sounds more like Donald Duck than growling though.

You can see her two bottom teeth. One top tooth is through, and another looks like it is
on the way. Yes she still has a binkie... Anyway, sometimes even when it is not in and she
is about to eat, she makes this cute swipe motion to take the binkie that is not there out.
You'd have to see it, but it is cute. She also like to try to put her binkie in our mouths too.

She also loves to stand and look out our bedroom window. She can barely see.
We like to gooutside and wait for Than to come home. She gets so excited and
makes this little squealsound while twirling her ankles and flapping her arms.
He wears safety/sunglasses while biking, and she likes to take them off,
play for a few seconds, and then try to put them back on him.

She gives slobbery kisses but won't wave. She got her first kiss from a boy at the movies;
how typical. We went to Toy Story 3 on Saturday and a little boy who was
also at the back of the theater with his mom was playing near Anika.
He leaned in while she started to giggle, and...

She has found the toilet paper. It is now sitting on the counter instead.

Another fun place to play - our closet!

It is getting cold, but we still usually go on walks. It is nice when Than can come along too.

Here she is helping me with pictures on the computer. I usually do anything
computer-related while she is asleep because she is so helpful :)

In the leaves, helping plant tulip bulbs.

Fleeing the scene of the crime. Clean socks into the dirty clothes. Dirty clothes onto the floor.

She was very content while we played choose-your-own-target frisbee golf.

In the closet again. You may think I am not watching her with all these pictures of messes.
But, I actually let her make them because it is something that will actually keep her
busy for awhile. She isn't a huge fan of actual toys...

Our Little Eater. She LOVES food. She loves to eat. She has had soooo many different kinds of food. Nathaniel calls her our Little Connoisseur.

Looking out the window again.

Busy, busy, busy!

October Stuff

Trick or Treat

Hooray for Saver's costumes!

Anika was a cow for Halloween.

We went to a pumpkin walk in Orem. Here Anika is about to swing with Grandma and
Grandpa Hardman. There were some nifty pumpkins and free Krispy Kreme donuts!

We got invited to go to a pumpkin walk in Logan, but sadly declined due to a fussy baby. Here is my friend, Kris. She is amazing! I was able to stop by her shower for just a bit while Anika was napping before we had family pictures and other stuff. I stole this picture from her blog...

Anika was also a pumpkin for Halloween. We went to a little gym's Halloween party
with our friends. Their son takes a class there.

Anika was practicing her beam routine

... and the dismount!

We went to a pumpkin patch...

with lots of pumpkins...

and crazy, big pumpkins...

with our friends.

Anika and Than are looking for some good pumpkins...

Here is a cute pumpkin :)

Here she is eating a pumpkin.

We also went to a puppet show done by Nathaniel's aunt. It was fun.
My parents came down to visit. It was wonderful of them because we had planned to go up there, but we have been a bit crazy lately and Anika still doesn't like the car. It was soooo nice of them to come!
We missed our ward party because Anika was sick. I had even made apple cake cupcakes for the contest.
